So I’m a book nerd. Specifically a series whore. I love to read and I love books in series. If I find an author that wrote a series I love then I will try to read all of their other stuff.
That being said, I love Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. So great! And Ann Brashares wrote a 5th book that takes place when they are older to see how it all turns out. I also love her book Last Summer (of You and Me). Absolutely wonderful. I just finished My Name is Memory. I don’t quite know how I feel about it, which never happens to me. I ALWAYS haven an opinion about a book I read.
My Name is Memory is a good book. I did like it, but it was deeper than I thought it was going to be. I had trouble getting into the book because there was so much to it at first and it took some time to understand the premise of the book. Basically it’s about past lives and soul recycling but not really remembering your past lives with exception of a few people. I like the idea of the novel, but it’s a lot to digest, especially since I expected the novel to be an easy summer read. But as the story goes a long, you get a better sense of the characters and what is happening and the going gets good. And the end is just a massive cliff hanger which I wasn’t expecting at all. It just leaves you wondering about so many things and it is set up so nicely for another book but I’m worried that it might not happen.
So Ann Brashares better write a sequel or else I might go a little nuts.
And all in all, I do recommend the book, but fair warning, water’s deeper than you think.

So I have a problem. Well realistically I have many problems. Anyways, the problem I am currently having is due to the fact that I have long blonde hair and Tangled is one of my top 5 favorite movies. I sometimes forget that I am not Rapunzel. So if you see me do any of the following, I’m probably I’m alter ego, Rapunzel:
- Dangle my hair out the window
- Intricately braid my hair
- Carry around a frying pan
- Break out in song and dance about how my life is beginning
- Act like a princess
- Start talking to chameleon as if he is my best friend
All of these are signs to keep an eye out for. Although, being Rapunzel wouldn’t be too terrible…. just think about it. Except I don’t think I could handle the brown bob hairdo at the end of the movie. Way too attached to my long blonde hair.
Also, courtesy of How to Train Your Dragon and Brave, I also think it’s possible to ride around on dragons and that I can be an awesome archer. That second one is also because of The Avengers. Hawkeye anyone? I mean really, I would do almost anything to be him, or be on him, I would take either realistically. Except when he gets hijacked in the beginning of the movie. I mean, who does that? But he definitely makes up for it in his badass-ness. Oh and because of Legolas in LOTR. What is it with archers in movies? Geeze. They make it look so cool!
I would take all of it at once please. I would like to be a long blonde haired, dragon riding archer princess who sings and dances at appropriate times. I mean, how hard could it possibly be? I would also probably have to become animated… Just need to look into that and then I will be set…

Whelp. I officially fail at keeping a blog. Perhaps I should try harder? Or I will continue to sporatically and randomly post things to keep everyone, including myself on my toes.
As previously mentioned forever ago, I need new countdowns. Well as time has passed, I have found those new ones!
- Summer School OVER: 2 weeks.
- Visit HOME: 6 days
- Living with my sister: 1 month
- CALIFORNIA: 1 month, 3 days
- Kelly Clarkson/The Fray concert: 1 week, 1 day
- bday: 1 month minus 2 days.
Alright, those all look reasonable and close enough to keep me motivated. Now back to the job I call work, AKA homework time, pinterest time, time I get to use to do whatever it is I want to do until my boss asks me to do something which will take me 5 minutes and then I get to go back to doing my own thing. I know, I live the life of luxury and I am going to suffer whenever I get a real job.

The second I was introduced to pintrest, I was a goner. I could not stop looking at all the creative, fun, random things all in one place. I had tried stumble upon, but it just wasn’t the same. In my massive amounts of time “pinning” (mainly during class, bad student, I know), I found this quote, “be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder”. To me it has so many meanings and implications that I strive for in my everyday life and long term goals. Thus came the name of this blog that I have decided to start. I want to be a lamp, a lifeboat and a ladder. I want to help, inspire, and teach. Which is exactly why I’m still in school, it’s a wonder how that worked out right?
Anyways, let us start off with a few countdowns that I have going:
- Graduation: 23 days
- Start of Summer school: 33 days
- Absolutely completely done with school:1 year, 7 months, 14 days
- British Virgin Island Vacation: 7 months
Clearly I need to set up some smaller goals so I don’t have to look at such daunting end lines that are forever away, besides Graduation. Meh.
